LifeGroups
What is a LifeGroup?
A LifeGroup is a small group of believers who meet together regularly to study, serve, love, pray, (probably eat), laugh, and intentionally live in the relationship that God intends. It is led by identifiable leaders who joyfully take responsibility for the growth and health of the group. At The Fellowship, our mission is to “help believers grow to be like Jesus.” LifeGroups are where that growth happens!
Why do we do LifeGroups?
God is relational, and exists in eternal community and fellowship between the Father, the Son, and Spirit (Gen. 1:26, Rom. 8:11). And God created us for community and relationship, too (Gen. 2:18). So at The Fellowship, we believe that God’s people are spiritually healthiest when walking in biblical community with each other (Acts 2:42-47). Discipleship, accountability, and deep friendships are all cultivated best within the small group (LifeGroup) setting.
Part of our “growing to be like Jesus” means being how He was, and doing what He did. Jesus was holy, wise, and compassionate - and He loved, taught, and walked regularly with a small group of people. So we don’t just want to know what He knew - we want to do what He did. We want to grow to be just like Him.
Where and when do LifeGroups meet?
Groups meet weekly or bi-weekly at differing times and locations - some in the same home every meeting, others rotate meeting places, and there are others meeting at The Fellowship. To see a list of LifeGroups including times, locations, and how to contact the leaders, click here.
What about my kids?
Childcare is handled differently in each group. Some incorporate the children by offering a lesson for them, while others (particularly with older kids) monitor them as they play in another room, etc. Any of our LifeGroup Leaders will happily answer questions about childcare in their group. There is no childcare provided by The Fellowship for LifeGroup meeting times.
How can I get into a LifeGroup?
If you’re ready to jump in, reach out and contact a few of the leaders from the LifeGroups list to get more specific information about their groups and let them know you might like to attend. Or if you don't know where to start, you can request to be contacted by emailing us some general information about the kind of group you’re looking for (couples with young kids, older kids, no kids, single, in Forest Creek, in Teravista, etc). Then someone will contact you in a group that fits your desires.
If you have more questions send us an email at lifegroups@thefellowshiprr.org, and someone will contact you with more information.
